Description (Valvular heart disease)

The Valvular Heart Disease Cardiology Course is a comprehensive course that focus on understanding the hemodynamics, presentation, newest diagnostic modalities, management, and treatment of valvular heart diseases. The course is explained in an easy way that is exam and clinical oriented approach, and helps participants gain in-depth knowledge about  aortic, mitral, tricuspid, and pulmonary valve diseases. The course covers current guidelines, diagnostic tools such as echocardiography, and emerging imaging techniques to assess valve function and anatomy. Treatment approaches, from medical management to surgical interventions like valve repair and replacement, are explored, along with newer transcatheter techniques. Real-world video cases and images are included to make understanding of the topics more easier than before.

What you'll learn

  • Understand normal valve anatomy and valvular hemodynamics.

  • Explain the pathophysiology of stenotic and regurgitant valve lesions.

  • Diagnose aortic stenosis and aortic regurgitation based on clinical findings, echocardiography, and imaging.

  • Diagnose mitral stenosis and mitral regurgitation and differentiate acute from chronic conditions.

  • Understand the causes and hemodynamic consequences of primary versus secondary mitral regurgitation.

  • Recognize pulmonary and tricuspid valve diseases and their clinical sequelae.

  • Correlate physical examination findings (murmurs, timing, radiation) with underlying valve pathology.

  • Interpret echocardiography and cardiac MRI findings in valvular heart disease.

  • Apply current guideline-based management strategies, including medical therapy, surgical intervention, and transcatheter procedures.

  • Integrate clinical, imaging, and guideline data into patient-centered decision-making.
